The Vision
What does the future of conservation look like in this country? We will work with forum participants to build this vision together.
Kickoff Forum | Thank You for Joining Us!
January 25 & 27, 2022
The Future of Conservation Forum kicked off on January 25 & 27, 2022. Invitees are public and private stakeholders who are involved with or interested in landscape-scale conservation. Stemming the biodiversity crisis and mitigating climate impacts requires us to rally together to create a network of connected lands and waters that can support healthy wildlife. Together, we'll develop and implement an innovative national action plan for the conservation of fish, wildlife, and plants in a changing landscape, for the benefit of all people, and wildlife populations. In doing so, we’ll enrich the lives of citizens through increased access to wild places, and protect the communities most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.
Forum Action Steps
- Action #1: Highlight existing partnerships that contribute to landscape scale conservation.
- Action #2: Identify existing capacities, authorities, responsibilities and gaps in conservation.
- Action #3: Propose specific actionable initiatives to advance conservation progress and develop collaborative and inclusive frameworks for conservation.
- Action #4: Determine opportunities to align and coordinate the discussion areas needed to implement a viable national framework for the future of conservation.
